UNICEF - Ebola and C4D
UNICEF's Communication for Development Ebola program has created educational materials that can be distributed in outbreak areas. The program was created with the recognition that "Access to timely and accurate life-saving information is...absolutely crucial." ALA Webinar
The American Library Association (ALA) will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, 2-3pm (EST) to address the role of librarians in the recent ebola outbreak.
The event will feature a discussion of librarians can assist users in finding "credible information sources on topics such as Ebola, Chikungunya and pandemic influenza". The event will feature Siobhan Champ-Blackwell and Elizabeth Norton, librarians from the U.S. National Library of Medicine Disaster Information Management Research Center .

¿Cómo se
contagia el ébola y cómo no?
El
virus del ébola no se transmite por el aire, ni por el agua, ni por mordeduras
de insectos que hayan picado a enfermos. El contagio solo se produce por
contacto directo entre personas a traves de la
sangre, el sudor, la saliva y cualquier otro fluido. Las secreciones corporales
también pueden encontrarse en objetos contaminados. Aunque el virus no se
encuentra en el aire, si un enfermo de ébola estornuda o tose cerca de alguien,
puede infectarle si ese fluido cae en los ojos, la boca o la nariz. Acceder a mas informacion.
¿Cuáles
son los síntomas del virus?
El periodo
de incubación —o intervalo de tiempo que puede transcurrir desde la infección
